School Council

The School Council has worked very hard this year! One of the main things that we’ve organised is the Talent Show. Many of the children participated and it was brilliant to see all the talent we have at the London Welsh School. There were so many different items, e.g.  Baker family band, Courtney sang a folk song and Ffyon played a song on the harp.

The Council has done so much more even! To raise money for Children in Need we sold cakes for £1 and to celebrate World Book Day everyone came to school dressed as a book character.

Eisteddfod outside of Wales

Before the Easter holidays we took part in the Eisteddfod outside of Wales. Everyone performed excellently! When the adults heard the children performing, they started smiling! Thanks to Catrin, Huw, Joanna, Rhian and Sioned for teaching us – we enjoy attending Urdd Club.

Library

This year we have a new school librarian (me!). I’ve been busy updating the library by arranging the books and sorting all the series/authors together. I have also arranged that we will create more cushions for the library during Sewing Club. Another idea I had was to ask each pupil to bring a picture of themselves reading in a different/interesting location – they are displayed on the wall, after all, reading is fun! I have several other ideas, so… watch this space!

Class Two Trips

Hampton Court

Class Two went on a trip to Hampton Court this year as part of the Tudors theme. We were very fortunate to have taken part in a drama workshop with Sali then we went on a tour of the Palace. We learnt a lot about the history of the period!

Fire Station

Class One recently went on a trip to Ealing Fire Station. Apparently, the firemen only have a minute to be dressed in their uniforms and be ready to leave in the fire engines after the firealarm rings – they have to be very fast!

Swimming and Tennis Lessons

We were very happy at the beginning of the spring term when we heard that we would be having swimming lessons for a term – they were a great success! This term, we’re busy in our Tennis lessons with Daisy and have learnt so much already

New Playground

Our new playground is ready, and it was certainly worth the wait! We have new bikes, a sand pit and a small garden. It is worth seeing!

Young Writers Competition

At the beginning of the year, Class Two pupils created poems about dreams for the Young Writers competition, Once Upon a Dream. All of the poems were successful and have been published in a book. Fantastic!
