TATE PROJECT – Year 3 pupils across London were invited to take part in the largest group portrait ever made. Thank you to David, who came in to take the photos and deliver a drama workshop. We look forward to seeing our photos in the exhibition at Tate Britain in November.

POLICE VISIT – PC Carolyn McGuigan delivered informative question and answer sessions to Class 1 and 2 about the role of the police, as well as some advice about how to stay safe in the community.

ART CLUB – A heartfelt thanks to Maxime Lebrun for joining us in this week’s art club. It was absolutely brilliant to see his work and to have a presentation on how to start drawing different characters. The pupils were thrilled to have the opportunity to draw their own characters!

COGURDD COMPETITION – Last Friday two of our pupils competed in the Urdd cookery competition and according to our adjudicator – Mrs Marian Howell – the standard of preparation and execution was very high. Da iawn chi blant!

WORLD WATER DAY – It was great to be part of World Water Day in Guildhall Yard today. The Worshipful Company of Water Conservators launched its “Taking Control of Your Environment” initiative. Many thanks for the invite – the pupils have learnt a lot about taking responsibility for the environment!

COMMONWEALTH GAMES ASSEMBLY – It was a pleasure to welcome Bethan Davies to the school today. Bethan represented Wales at the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast earlier this year. She talked about the experience of representing the country, and gave a short demonstration of how she trains.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION TRIP – Class 2 had the warmest of welcomes at Ealing Gurdwara. We were welcomed by Mrs Sethi and a team of enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers. Thank you!

CLASS 1 ASSEMBLY – Class 1 pupils held their Family Assembly this term, with all pupils performing songs and presenting interesting facts they had learnt about the rain forests of the world.

MUSEUM OF LONDON – Class 2 had a great trip to the Museum of London today to further their knowledge on the Victorian Era! They enjoyed a workshop and had an opportunity to dress up in period clothing.

BOOK TRUST – Nursery and Reception pupils were extremely happy to receive a book each from the Book Trust ‘Time to Read’ scheme.

LITTEN NATURE RESERVE – A great day was had at Litten Nature Reserve with Class 1 collecting leaves, exploring under tree stumps, building, painting and cooking with mud and leaves and climbing trees.

END OF YEAR ASSEMBLY – It was sad to say goodbye to our current year 6 pupils this morning – they’ll be sorely missed, but we wish them all the best for the future!

SCHOOL BARBEQUE – A huge thank you to Tony and Siw for hosting the school summer barbecue. The families and guests had another wonderful day, and we raised over £4000 for the school. Thanks to everyone who came along, donated items, bought raffle tickets and bid on auction items.

BUDDHIST CENTRE – A big thank you to Sara-Ellen for leading a morning of discovery for the pupils of class 2 in a Buddhist Centre in Acton this week. It was a morning filled with discussions, religious stories and listening to the experiences of Buddhists from different backgrounds. Our thanks to SGI-UK for your warm welcome.
